Our co-director Lawrence Tijjani had the pleasure of being invited to talk at Google Education’s London Summit run by AppsEvents. AppsEvents is a Google certified partner who are responsible for providing training across Europe, Middle East, Asia and America.

The summit focused on the latest developments and updates in G Suite and was led by practising educators, certified trainers and others who are leaders in the Google for Education community. This wasn’t your typical summit where you spend the whole day listening to someone talk at you and in turn the audience retreat into their email inboxes or start checking social media. There were several hands-on sessions that delegates could select from through the weekend, so they could learn by doing rather than listening.

The session lead by Lawrence focussed on using Google Forms for Assessment and understanding how they can be used to support differentiation.

What is Google Forms? Google Forms is a G Suite application that allows you to create dynamic forms. It’s flexibility in functionality allows you to manage event registrations, whip up quick polls, collect email addresses for a newsletter, create quick step-through tests and much more.  

“My session went really well considering it was my debut at the Summit since completing my Google educator level 1 and 2. One of the key things I wanted to achieve in my session was to help participants build the confidence to use Google Forms in their classrooms, but also giving practical tips.” – Lawrence’s thoughts on how his session went.

From a technical standpoint, attendees had developed a self-marking quiz and some were able to go a step further to create the more complex branching quiz – a condition based quiz where users are directed to different sets of questions based on previous answers.
