With less than 24 hours until the release of the Nigerian football shirt, pre-orders have reportedly gone through the roof. Its even suggested that the pre-order record has been smashed having received over three million orders from around the globe. Such is the demand that registration for tomorrow’s launch at Nike Town London from 10am – 9pm is now closed.

Getting your hands on one of the various items brandishing the vibrant Nigerian flag colours ?? and a feather-style pattern combined to pay homage to the team of ’94 (the first time the Nigerian squad qualified for the World Cup) will be no mean feat.

The kit was first shown in February at which point the Internet had gone into meltdown.

We asked our Creative Director, Emmanuel, for his thoughts on the design. “It certainly reflects the current state of the Nigerian team. Exciting, charismatic and a force to be reckoned with. Nike have done a superb job of delivering a design that encapsulates what it is to be a Nigerian and translates it into the modern universal language of fashion”.
